Charlie Bunting, fishing with his son, Travis

From the capital of Missouri, Jefferson City, Charlie Bunting is an avid Crappie Angler. He’s passed along his love of fishing to his son, Travis. Charlie has been tournament fishing since 1997. Now, partnering with his son, he spends much of his time on Truman Lake or Lake of the Ozarks, where they were the team to beat three years in a row. Charlie has found himself as a Qualifier 30+ times, was in the money at a couple of tournaments on Perry Lake as well as Tuddle Creek, the 2005 Classic Crappie USA Champion, a winner in the National Points Race for Crappie USA in 2007, Mississippi State Champ in 2008, Crappie Masters Champ in 2012 plus winning it all on the American Crappie Trail in 2017.

While Charlie has owned and fished out of more than 20 boats in his decorated career, he’s chosen Angler’s Port Marine for his last six boats.

In Charlie’s spare time, he enjoys hunting, camping, and spending time with his wife Connie Sue of 48 years, son Travis, his wife, Angie, and all the grandchildren.
