About Richie Marsh

Introducing Richie Marsh, a seasoned angler with a four-decade love affair with fishing that began at the tender age of 5. His first bass, caught in the company of his father, set the stage for a lifelong passion that continues to reel him in.

For the past 21 years, Richie has been making waves not just on the water but also in the hallowed halls of education. As a dedicated PE teacher and coach in the Excelsior Springs School district, he has been shaping young minds and athletes alike. In a bold move this year, Richie assumed the role of Middle School activities director, adding another feather to his cap of leadership.

Richie’s fishing journey took a competitive turn in the early 2000s when he participated as a Co-angler in the Heartland and Central Pro Am tournaments while pursuing his education at Northwest Missouri State. Post-graduation in 2004, armed with his first fiberglass boat, he transitioned to the BFLs as a Co-angler. The pivotal moment came in 2008 when Richie made the move to the front of the boat, fishing on the boater side. A crowning achievement in 2021 was qualifying for the BFL All-American on the boater side—an accomplishment that holds a special place in his angler’s heart. This year, Richie sets his sights on conquering both the BFLs and the exciting new Heartland Trails tournaments.

Beyond the realm of fishing, Richie is a devoted family man. Married to his lovely wife Andrea, they share their home with two active boys, Connor and Carson, both deeply engrossed in soccer, basketball, and baseball schedules that keep the household buzzing with excitement.

Richie proudly represents a lineup of sponsors, including Angler’s Port, Mercury, Shimano, G.Loomis, and TightLinesUV tackle. Join Richie Marsh on his angling adventures, where the thrill of the catch meets the joys of family and the pursuit of excellence.
