Troy Thomas is a proud member of the Angler’s Port Marine Pro Staff and a seasoned competitor with nearly 40 years of fishing experience. A retired member of the Kansas City Police Department, Troy brings discipline, dedication, and integrity to everything he does — both on and off the water.

Running a 2022 Phoenix 919, Troy competes in the Heartland Team Trail, Big Bass Bash, and numerous other regional events. His competitive drive and steady presence have made him a familiar face in the tournament scene, highlighted by a Joe Bass tournament victory at Truman Lake in 2021. He considers Lake of the Ozarks and Truman among his favorite fisheries, where he continues to refine his craft year after year.

Troy’s journey into tournament fishing began in 2017 after meeting his wife, Lisa, whose father, Bill Hall, helped ignite his passion for competitive angling. Today, he proudly represents Angler’s Port Marine and Bojangles Baits, and credits the Hibdon family as a major influence in his fishing career.

Family remains central to Troy’s life. He and Lisa share a close-knit family that includes five grown children and six grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. When he’s not on the water, Troy enjoys spending time with his three Australian Shepherds and embracing the outdoor lifestyle he’s loved for decades.

With experience, resilience, and a deep-rooted love for fishing, Troy Thomas continues to represent Angler’s Port Marine with pride as he heads into the 2026 season.
